An ongoing art exhibition by a group of emerging artists at Mono 8 gallery. “Maiden in Jeopardy” is about the group’s commentaries, subtle or not, presented through their interpretations, symbolism and metaphors on issues about the artists’ interaction and relationship with their craft, creativity vs. marketability, commercialism vs. survival. In this show, the local art scene is likened to the mythological Damsel in Distress, full of complications and open ended questions.Self-fulfilling or not, and prophecies be held, the group’s discourse is genuine in its content. Exhibitors includes Abe Orobia, Janos Delacruz , Dhon Dela Paz, Judeo Herrera, Annie Pacaña Lumbao, Jet Rai and Cris Villanueva. “Maiden in Jeopardy” is on display until September 18, 2018 at Mono8 Gallery, Ground Level, Casa Tesoro, 1335 Mabini St., Ermita, Metro Manila.
