Julius Legaspi is already well known as an established artist in the Philippines and highly skilled at using variety of medium – oil, acrylic, watercolor and soft pastel in his works. His story as an artist began at tender age of 11, when he attended painting workshops in his hometown, led by Fernando Sena – an accomplished artist who has dedicated his life to bringing art to the underprivileged. This not only marked the beginning of a long relationship that led to an apprenticeship and his eventual appointment as an assistant workshop instructor, but has also sealed his fate, to what may be a life-long affair with his first love — pastels.
