Kambal Gallery Hong Kong at MANILART 2018

Recently established by twin sisters Anna Bernarte Pendry and Irene Bernarte Haagen in Hong Kong in August 2017 in the hope of elevating Filipino arts in the international art stage, Kambal Gallery Hong Kong will be participating at Manila Art for the first time with its booth theme “Celebrating Diversity” supporting the main theme of Manila Arts 10th year anniversary celebration “Ang Arte ng Pilipinas, Celebrating a Decade of Artistic Appreciation”.

Kambal Gallery booth will be showcasing the works of Filipino and foreign artists featuring diverse and eclectic styles from pop art toys by Jan Calleja, “encaustic” portraits by Saverio Lucci following the discipline of Renaissance masters techniques with a modern twist, dynamic and ingenious works by Salvador Ching using printmaking techniques and acrylic paint; the juxtapose expressed by Demet dela Cruz on the socio-political issues, encaustic abstract paintings by British artist Sue Perks and Eman Sia’s fastidious details in his paintings inspired by his mother’s stories about nature and environment told when he was a child.

The exhibit will have its VIP Invitational Gala on 17th October, Wednesday from 6pm and General Admission viewing on 18-21 October, 2018 from 11am to 9pm at SMX Convention Center, SM Aura, BGC, Taguig. Tickets are available online at ticketbooth.ph Visit www.manilaart.org

The works would take the audience to experience the amalgamation of Filipino culture and Western influences as the artists reveal their personal passion and self-expression. By setting up this collaboration, both artists can read through the stories the artists want to take their audience into the journey where the senses are used and explored in encouraging arts appreciation and dialogues.

As a foreign gallery in its initial initiative to bringing foreign arts to the Philippines that will lead for awareness, education and collaboration of Filipino and foreign artists is a very exciting venture. Featuring all original works, the artists represented in Kambal Gallery have very distinct styles that identify the artists right away and the array of arts that will be displayed at this event are feast to the senses.

Kambal Gallery not only showcases some of the finest in Filipino Arts but also pursues their passion in supporting charity causes. In its maiden exhibit held at the very prestigious venue Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre in January 2018, part of the proceeds of their sale was donated to Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation.

Kambal Gallery has since then staged successful exhibits at the Affordable Art Fair held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in May 2018 with more than 115 local and international galleries participating and at the recent Asia Contemporary Art Show held at the Conrad Hong Kong in September 2018 featuring more than 2,000 artworks from more than 85 international galleries from 20 different countries.

After Manila Art, Kambal Gallery will be exhibiting the works on paper – watercolor, soft pastel, pen & ink by renowned artist Lydia Velasco and already well established artists, Julius Legaspi, Erwin Mallari, Noel Bueza and sculpture by Bangkok based French-Filipino artist Adeline Buenaventura at the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong from 12-14 November, 2018 and a workshop for Filipino domestic workers on 11th November, 2018 as part of their corporate social responsibility initiative.
