Mark My Words by Migs Villanueva and Rica Bolipata-Santos

Mark My Words: Rendering Enlightening Words into Paintings If a picture paints a thousand words, imagine the great heights that paintings, combined with meaningful words and phrases, could reach. “Mark My Words”, a dream collaboration between two very talented artists Migs Villanueva and Rica Bolipata-Santos, launches on November 24, 2018, 6:00 PM, at The Saturday Group Gallery, 4/L East Wing of the Shangri-La Mall EDSA. The exhibit will run until December 7, 2018. Migs Villanueva shares that she would come across some lines written by Rica Bolipata-Santos on Facebook and would often wonder, “Oh, to have my waifs tell that story!” Villanueva then decided to ask Rica Bolipata-Santos if she could render some of these lines as paintings. As it turns out, Bolipata-Santos has always admired Villanueva’s creativity since they were classmates in graduate school. Naturally, Bolipata-Santos, who used to consider herself a closet writer in 2005, happily agreed to Villanueva’s request. “Mark My Words” aims to illuminate the dark corners of the world. Don’t forget to drop by The Saturday Group Gallery, 4/L East Wing of the Shangri-La Mall EDSA on November 24 – Dec 7, 2018 for some enlightenment.
