Founded by visual artists Roy Espinosa, the Filipinas Institute for the Advancement of Arts and Culture (FILARTS), a non-stock, non-profit organization primarily conceived to help promote Philippine arts & culture and give the much deserved exposure of Filipino artists, locally and internationally through the various art shows and events that the organization plans to organize.
The numerous international art collaborations that FILARTS has participated in paved the way for Roy to take the Filipino Arts Magazine to the next level. Hence, the South East Asian Artists Magazine – an art magazine which aims to put the spotlight on the Asian art scene, along with fellow Asian artists and their works, was born.
This is FILARTS’ first foray in bringing together international visual artists via the magazine. On the cover of the maiden issue is internationally known and noted contemporary Filipino artist Franklin Caña Valencia. Also featured on this maiden issue are select Asian artists who are well known in their own countries.
