“Last Full Show” @ Sining Kamalig

“Last Full Show” is the closing show that brings down the curtain on the legendary Sining Kamalig Gallery, in existence for almost half a century. Founded in the early Seventies, by sisters Mrs. Balboa and Mrs Corito Kalaw, Sining Kamalig was a vanguard of Philippine contemporary art. It encouraged the exploration of non-traditional and experimental art, as evidenced by their support of “Shop 6,” an art group spearheaded by the late Roberto Chabet, whose barrier-breaking concepts paved the way for the eventual acceptance of works previously deemed provocative and unacceptable to the public sensibility.

Participating artists are: Pandy Aviado, Tikoy Aguiluz, Yob Achecruz, Heber Bartolome, Jeff Dizon, Hermisanto, Raul Lebajo, Cid Reyes, Mario Patdu, Bong Paz, Riche Yee, and Roy Veneracion.

Sining Kamalig Gallery is at the Upper Ground Floor, Ali Mall, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City.
